| Summer Island - object theatre for children |

| If at moments this long and cold winter gets too much and you catch yourself dreaming about summer and sun, here is a little treat we suggest you - Summer Island - a witty, inventive performance by Latvian artists, light as a summer breeze! |

Created by the artistic collective NOMADI, the performance brings one quickly back to the happy summers of childhood, sun on the cheeks, wanderings along the seacost and in woods, looking and touching and discovering everything that moves around in the nature. Set designer Kristīne Vītola has put on stage a beautiful collection of everyday things that becomes magically alive in the hands of puppeteer Juta Vanga. There are only few sentences said in Latvian on stage, the rest is pure animation. This little piece does wonders for children immediately setting free their imagination and interest to do it themselves.
Summer Island is inspired by the famous children writer Tove Jansson′s Summer Book and tells a story of a little girl spending the summer with her grandma and dad on an island in the Baltic sea.
