Puppet and object theatre festival HOMO ALIBI 2008, Riga 27 -30 August
Welcome to Homo Alibi 2008! This year we have made a special focus on object and puppet theatre. If you think that this is mostly for children and last time it had any interest for you was when you were about 6, we are ready to prove the opposite!

Homo Alibi programme presents international companies and artists that primarly make work for adults - French artist Michel Laubu from Turak theatre works with recycled objects, creating most incredible characters and stories from everyday objects. Three inexhaustible Russians from the engineering theatre Akhe will bring their explosive version of Faust, playing around with words and chemical experiments in turbo tempo. German string puppet master Frank Soehnle will present "Salto.Lamento" - a visually stunning and joyful dance macabre accompanied by live music, while French object genre pioneers Velo Theatre will tell a story of a sleepless night that turns into an incredible journey...Welcome to the world of visual suprises and fascinating imagination!

And don′t forget to bring the children along! Most shows are suitable for young audience from 12 years. Or choose our special children programme which includes shows for the very young audience members from the age of 5.
Other events to watch out for are our two festival premieres! We have invited Latvian theatre director Martins Eihe and Estonian-Latvian choreographer Renate Valme to create shows especially for the festival.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our festival shows, exhibition and our festival bar at cafe Pie kapteiņa (Pārdaugava, at Āgenskalna bay).
